Rev Tom Slockee Chairman South Eastern Aboriginal Regional Management Services

Rev Tom is a dynamic and visionary community leader who is at the front line in bringing about new management systems and structures for Aboriginal Housing in NSW.

He had been responsible in giving leadership at community, Regional, State and National levels. Tom had recently been appointed to the position of Chairman of the Southern Area Health Service Board, this first Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander person appointed in this capacity. Tom was also the first and only Aboriginal person elected to the Eurobodalla Shire Council.

Tom was the foundational Chairman of the NSW Aboriginal Housing Office. Tom is currently giving leadership to a new community owned and controlled organisation called South Eastern Aboriginal Regional Management Service (SEARMS).

It is a Co-operative made up of seven Aboriginal Housing providers, serving the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities between Ulladulla and Bodalla on the NSW south coast.

The objectives are to become a viable and sustainable Aboriginal Housing Organisation, to improve the management of our community owned rental housing, to grow the number of Aboriginal Community houses and work with others to develop emergency housing.
